October 2018
Substructure
October sees the completion of the basement and field level slab.
Superstructure
October will see the steel frame completion, including all the floor slabs poured.
Releasing the building over to the façade and internal works.
Envelope
The external envelope has progressed well, with the large elements of glass installed to the north elevation college terrace and east elevations. Great progress is being made for closing the building up from the elements, with a view for ½ the building to be installed.
Mechanical and Electrical
Rain water outlets and associated pipework within the building continued for water management. We are also progressing electrical items.
Roof
Installation of the permanent handrail systems to be commenced to the north of the building.
November 2018
November should see noticeable progress to the north of the building façade works.
We will commence early fit out activities and progress Mechanical and Electrical first fix items.
We will commence the north roof weathering.

- There will be 2584 sqm of sports areas!
- There will be 2395 sqm of science areas!
Community Engagement
McLaren seek to employ local tradesmen and continue recycling to mitigate carbon emissions. Local labour resourced displayed via community engagement board.
McLaren have chosen this year to sponsor one of the 50 snails being sculptured for Snailspace Brighton for charity, this is running from September 2018 through to November 2018. The Snail is located at the bottom of Sutherland Road / Eastern Road Junction. The snail is called Woniu, and has been created by the artist Jessica Perrin.

The entrance to the site is looking untidy – McLaren have ordered new gates and signage.
