Substructure
July has seen the continued development of the field level slab, the campus level swimming pool area wall has been completed. The RC works continue and making good progress assisted by the good weather.
The steelwork has been installed from mid point towards the College terrace, bringing the structure from field level to the roof. Initial pipework for the swimming pool has commenced.
August 2018
During August we should see the steel frame commencing south, spanning over the swimming pool. Decking should also commence for the upper floors.
Fire protection to the steel frame will also begin.
Building Fact File
- It would take Usain Bolt 6.78 seconds to the run the roof top track!
- It would take Michael Phelps 9 seconds to swim one length of the swimming pool, whereas a Great White Shark would do it in 2 seconds!
Community Engagement
Residential letter drop for the wide load deliveries, traffic enforcement from the local authority.
Open evening held on 11 June 2018, some of the outcome of the meeting are listed below:
- Dust migration – McLaren are using water suppression and regular road sweeping.
- Noise – Apart from the early morning enforcement deliveries, McLaren adhere to the planning constraints.
